Synergy FC U17/18 Academy team wins Elite Group at Boston Thanksgiving Weekend Showcase.

The Synergy FC U17/18 Academy tied Seacoast United (NH) Premier Team 2-2 on Saturday, November 26 and then went on to claim 1-0 victories against Black Watch Premier (RI) and Western United FC (MA) on Sunday, November 27 to capture the Elite Group.
"We have not played a competitive match since the summer so we made a few unforced errors against Seacoast. The boys played much cleaner football against Black Watch and Western and deserved to win the group/Division," commented Head Coach Hugh Brown.
Second year player Rijad Mezetovic scored the game winner for SFC against Western United FC just :32 seconds into the final match on Sunday night. Synergy created many scoring opportunities, but could not put the game completely out of reach. As the clock ran down in the second half Western United created one final opportunity when the outside left midfielder drove to goal and hit a low shot to the back post. First year SFC goalkeeper Steven Paquette came up with a clean save to preserve the shutout and the victory.
"We have some very dedicated players on this team that play proper – possession oriented football. We demand the highest level of technical development from our players... this team has some talent and when they start moving the ball around and combining with each other it is fun to watch."
The Synergy FC U17/18 Academy is in action again December 2-4 when they travel to a weekend long event in Massapequa (Long Island), New York.
