Synergy FC sending three teams to 2010 Region I Premier Leagues
The Region I Premier League office has announced that the Synergy Football Club U13, U16 and U17 Teams have been selected to compete in the Region I Premier Leagues in 2010.
The SFC U13 will enter the Northeast Region Premier League (NERP) for the first time in 2010. The SFC U16 boys will enter the NERP for the third time and the SFC U17 team will compete in the Region I Premier League (RPL) for the fifth consecutive year.
The RPL and the NERP are considered to be the most competitive leagues in the the region. Teams that apply for the leagues must go through an extensive selection process prior to receiving an invitation to join. Most of the teams in the leagues are state champions or state cup finalists with a few exceptions.
"We are looking forward to competing in the leagues in 2010",commented Synergy Director Hugh Brown, "playing against the best teams and players in the region is a developmental priority for us so getting selected to play in the region leagues is important for our teams.''
Region League play runs from March 6 thru May 8 with league championships held May 15-16, 2010.
The winners of the NERP receive an automatic berth into the RPL for 2011. The winner of the RPL receives an automatic wildcard bid into the US Youth Soccer Regional Championships in July 2010 and a birth into the National League for 2011.
